Seeking assistant managing editor for New Braunfels (TX) Herald-Zeitung. This is the number two position in the newsroom at a 9,800 circulation, six-day-a-week newspaper in the Hill Country of Texas. Knowledge of AP style, strong line-editing, headline writing and page design skills are required. The ideal candidate will have a reporting background. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of sports. This is an evening shift, responsible for putting the paper to bed. Highly competitive market and a great place to live. Seeking talented photojournalist
The Daily Sentinel, an award-winning 7,800 daily circulation newspaper in Nacogdoches, (East) Texas, is seeking a staff photographer with a passion for community journalism. Qualified candidates will have a college degree, experience working for a daily newspaper, and a background in multimedia editing and production. The qualified candidate will also be proactive and deadline oriented, will excel at working with a small team of reporters and will demonstrate an ability to cooperate with co-workers and deal professionally with the public. The job includes an opportunity to photograph feature and breaking news, high school sports and college sports at Stephen F. Austin State University. The position is full-time with health, dental and 401K. Staff are provided with Nikon digital cameras, lenses, equipment and laptops. The Daily Sentinel is owned by Southern Newspapers Inc.
