The New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, a 8,500-circulation daily (Tuesday through Sunday) is seeking a marketing/advertising director.
This position is responsible for all retail and classified sales and supervises a staff of eight. This position also is responsible for developing brand image and sales strategies for the newspaper’s circulation department and commercial printing operation. New Braunfels has both a growing population and expanding retail base. The Herald-Zeitung is about to launch a new web site with video and audio advertising capabilities so the successful candidate must be excited, knowledgeable and engaged with the expanding advertising opportunities being created by newspapers, yet not lose sight of the fact that the printed product remains the primary focus for sales. This is hands-on job and previous community newspaper management experience is required. Immediate opening.
This position needs a high-energy, well-organized, experienced, creative, curious leader to keep pace with the opportunities the newspaper and community offer.
